Mike Stephens Pokernewsheadlines.com Poker home games bring regular enjoyment to many players, including some of the biggest names in sport and high profile celebrities. However, bring weapons to your local game and things can quickly turn ugly. That’s what is alleged to have happened in the locker room at a recent NBA game featuring the Washington Wizards. Players Javaris Crittenton and Gilbert Arenas are at the center of the poker debt storm which is believed to involved $25,000. Police are investigating reports that the two players drew guns on each other during a heated incident in the Wizards locker room. The NBA allow players to possess a firearm but the rules on carrying guns at league facilities or whilst traveling on league business are strict. Jerry Sloan of the Utah Jazz team said; “These guys have a tremendous image to try to improve on all the time, because, you know, these buildings we play in are not all full and any time you have situations like that (in Washington) that makes people a little bit more skeptical about coming and watching you play. “What’s their priority? When those things draw more attention to what’s going on than the game itself, then we’re probably going in the wrong direction – and I don’t think that’s good for basketball.” Washington Wizards officials remained tight lipped over the incident but announced; “We are continuing to co-operate fully with the proper authorities and the NBA and will have no further comment at this time.” Related posts:
