Day 2 of the $2,500 Pot-Limit Hold’em/Omaha event at the 2010 World Series of Poker just wrapped up a few minutes ago.

After two full days of play in the event, only 14 of the original 482 entrants are still alive in the tournament.

One of those players happens to be Phil Ivey, who will be looking to win his eighth World Series of Poker bracelet on Saturday.

The chip leader of this event heading into the final day of play is Jose-Luis Velador, who currently sits with around 455k in chips. David Chiu and Rob Hollink also managed to finish Day 2 above the 400k chip mark.

Phil Ivey finished Day 2 with around 207k in chips, thanks in part to a key double up near the end of the day.

Many people will be keeping a close eye on Ivey tomorrow (Saturday), as he is currently involved in a mountain of World Series of Poker prop bets. The first place prize in this event is about $260k, but you can safely assume that Ivey will take home millions more in side bets if he ends up taking down this event.

With a win on Saturday, Phil Ivey would claim his eighth World Series of Poker bracelet, tying him with Erik Seidel on the all-time list. Note: Men Nguyen, who also owns seven World Series of Poker bracelets, also has a chance to tie Seidel on Saturday (Nguyen is very deep in the $5k NLHE/Six Handed event).

Ivey also made the second day of the $10k Heads Up No Limit Hold’em Championship, meaning that he will be multi-tabling (once again) on Saturday.
