After posting losses in 11 of their last 12 sessions, Patrik Antonius at last booked a win in the “durrrr” Challenge, taking $60,696 off the tables on Tuesday afternoon. During the 46 days his 50,000-hand match with Tom “durrr” Dwan went dormant, Antonius managed to turn around some stomach-churning online cash-game losses. Since their last session on March 12, Antonius has won back $2.64 million of the $3.15 million he was out for the year, which could go a long way toward explaining why he found himself ready to go back into the ring with Dwan, who is still up $1,847,105 overall in the challenge.

Antonius and Dwan dug in for more than eight and a half hours, playing 2,677 hands of $200/$400 pot-limit Omaha. With Antonius needing to make up so much ground on Dwan, it’s not surprising that so many monsterpottens materialized, four of them over $200,000. The largest pot went to Dwan, a $273,392 behemoth that was the Challenge’s ninth-largest hand overall.

Antonius was sitting on a nearly $529,000 stack when the hand came up while Dwan held just under $137,000. He raised to $1,200, then called Antonius’ $3,600 three-bet. Antonius led out for $6,000 on the {J-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop, Dwan raised to $19,200, and Antonius came back over the top for $64,800. Dwan moved all-in for $133,096 and Antonius called, turning up {K-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for an overpair and a queen-high flush draw. Dwan showed{Q-Spades}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} having flopped a set of sevens. The {J-Hearts} on the turn made Dwan a full house and left Antonius drawing only to a queen. The river was the {3-Diamonds}, Antonius hitting a flush that was no good and the pot was shipped to Dwan.

Our Finnish friend did lay claim to the second-largest pot of the day, no small sum at $248,798. Most of the money went in pre-flop, Dwan six-betting to $97,200 holding {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{10-Spades} and Antonius calling with {J-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Hearts}. Both players had around $30,000 behind when the flop came down {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}, Antonius hitting top two pair and Dwan a straight draw. Antonius moved in his remaining $27,199 and Dwan called, having him slightly covered. The {9-Hearts} on the turn made Antonius a full house and the river fell the {2-Diamonds} Antonius raking in the pot and leaving Dwan to rebuy.
