Coverage of the World Series of Poker continues on ESPN Tuesday night at 8 p.m. (ET) with the return of the Tournament of Champions. One million dollars is up for grabs, with $500,000 for the winner, in the WSOP’s first All-Star Game when 27 of the game’s most popular players met under the bright lights of the feature table. Annie Duke, Mike Matusow, Mike Sexton, Joe Cada and Barry Shulman earned automatic entry in the tournament as previous TOC winners and last year’s WSOP champs. Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson, Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan were all voted in by fans through an online vote on wsop.com. Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier won a seat through a one table Sit & Go provided by the WSOP Academy. The first of two one-hour episodes shows three former Main Event Champions – Joe Hachem, Chan and Huck Seed – meet with ten players left; the final ten shared 41 WSOP bracelets. The second episode will show the final six players, including Howard Lederer, Negreanu and Barry Greenstein play for the title and bragging rights. Related Posts
