For the beginner Deepstacks University is not. But if you’ve been playing poker for a while, have a good grasp of the basics and want to learn some advanced tactics and strategies, DU is definitely for you. Their Reactive Training Technology (patent pending) gives you a hands-on learning experience; asking you how you’d play it. In OSP’s humble opinion this gives DU the edge in on-line poker training over sites that simply give you videos filled with examples. But it’s all in how you (like to) learn. Deepstacks University has amassed a pretty impressive list of live and on-line pros to instruct you, headlined by Mike “The Mouth” Matusow. Other notable names attached to the DU roster are T.J. Cloutier and Tom McEvoy. Each gives a concise explanation of what they’re trying to show you and why in between your interactive steps in the lessons. The videos themselves are a little clunky, as in unrehearsed and apparently unscripted, but they’re quite short leaving you with less the impression of novices in front a camera and more of what you’re watching it for. Deepstacks University is worth taking a look at, even it if it’s just to try out their on-line demonstrations. But don’t be surprised if you find yourself wanting more and sign-up!
